Short-term (holiday) apartment rentals
Long-term (residency) apartment rentals

Prague holiday apartments have become increasingly popular in recent years. There are many reasons for this. As more and more visitors flock to the Golden City, standards in the city’s hotels have been dropping. It’s a lot of work catering to the needs of several million visitors, and that’s why apartment rental services have been popping up left and right. When my friends and family come to visit me, they almost always prefer renting their own flat. Why? It’s a lot cheaper than renting a hotel when two or more people are sharing the cost, you get a lot more space, you can choose the location you want to be in (check out our Neighborhoods page for more info), and you don’t have to put up with a lot of crap – everything’s ready for you upon arrival, you just have to sign and pay. I mean, who really wants to join the tourist horde anyway? If you’re coming here for the first time, you’ll figure out right away that Prague is probably the worst city in Europe to be a tourist in. That’s because in the Old Town, seemingly everyone and their mother is a tourist, and if you’re a foreigner, you’re going to get the icky tourist treatment everywhere you go. That’s why it’s best to blend in as much as possible. The best way to start is to “go native” by getting your own pad – not staying in some cramped hotel room.

The best holiday flat rental service in Prague is Old Town Apartments. They’re also probably the largest, which means no matter what time of year you’re coming to Prague, peak season or low season, they’ll have something available for you. Their flats are all clean and well furnished, most of them were recently renovated, and they come with a lot of perks you just won’t find in most hotels – big screen TVs, Internet access, stereos, the whole nine yards. Whether you want to be in New Town, Old Town, or all over the town, their flats are spread out throughout the city center in all the best locations – if you’re visiting friends or family in Prague, they’ll undoubtedly envy you. You can check out their apartments and reserve them through their convenient Internet booking service, at www.apartmentsapart.com.

If you’re looking to stay longer than one or two months, you can find a flat by checking out the bulletin boards on www.prague.tv or by stopping by expat hangouts such as Bohemian Bagel ( www.bohemianbagel.cz )
